New Rules: Inactive Accounts on Blue Access for ProducersSM (BAPSM) and Blue Access for EmployersSM (BAESM)
What’s changing? In August, we’re implementing an industry standard practice to maintain the health of our BAP and BAE portals. Users who haven’t logged into their accounts in 13 months or more will lose access.
Email alert: Yesterday we notified all producers with primary BAP accounts of this change and the steps they should take to keep their access and the access of their delegates. Tomorrow, we’ll deliver an email to BAE group administrators and security managers.
Primary vs. delegate users: Primary BAP users are producers with an ID number issued by us after initial onboarding. Producers need that number to register for BAP. In turn, primary users can give BAP access to others. For example, an agency may give an accounting colleague delegate access to review commissions data. Primary BAP users set up and manage delegate users. BAE works similarly.
If a user loses BAP or BAE access, remember the following:
BAP and BAE primary users who lose access due to inactivity can reregister following prompts on the bcbsmt.com/producer and bcbsmt.com/employer login pages.
Delegate users who lose access due to their own inactivity or their primary’s inactivity will need to work with a primary user to regain access.

Take Advantage of the Certification Training Incentive
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) is offering producers a chance to receive complimentary certification training from America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) in 2022. Both AHIP and BCBSMT training are required to market/sell our MAPD/PDP plans.
What you need to do:
To earn your AHIP coupon for complimentary training next year, you must access and complete AHIP/BCBSMT training by Oct. 1.
Then, if you sell 10 or more policies during this year’s Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7, 2021), you’ll receive a special code next year for complimentary training.
Certification is open: AHIP’s certification site is now open, and you can access it to complete certification training. Also, you must complete BCBSMT’s annual training to begin marketing/selling our Medicare Advantage/PDP products.

Temporary 60-Day Grace Period for Fully Insured COBRA Billing Expires July 24
Last year, we temporarily extended the grace period from 30 to 60 days on all fully insured COBRA billing profiles to allow extra time to remit payments and prevent disruption.
What’s changing: Effective July 24, 2021, the COBRA grace period will revert to the standard 30 days. Groups with a paid-to-date before Aug. 1 must submit outstanding premiums for posting by July 23 to avoid delinquency.
If your group clients have questions, either they or you can call the number on their bill for help.
